Another record month for food assistance
In October, the most recent report available, Food Bank of Iowa and its partners in 55 counties served a record 151,282 individuals. And a record number of those (67,395) were children. This trend has persisted since May of this year.
Food insecurity is on the rise in Iowa and across the country. Poverty, inflation and a 12.4% increase in grocery prices are fueling the hunger crisis. Food Bank of Iowa is working to keep the shelves stocked despite rising prices and ongoing supply chain challenges.
Your support of Food Bank of Iowa — whether through time, talent or treasure — is changing lives of our neighbors in need.
