Dream Center Food Pantry — A caring community

Since 2000, Food Bank of Iowa and what is now known as the Dream Center Des Moines Food Pantry have partnered to ensure Iowans have ongoing access to nutritious food.
“The Food Bank has been a great partner, and it’s been a long journey with each other,” said Jeff, executive director of the Dream Center. “There’s history there that’s been fabulous.”
The food pantry originally functioned as part of Reach Church’s outreach program, but last year, the Dream Center officially opened its doors. Initially the center had only one program – the food pantry – but within one year it added eight more services, including a free medical clinic, a pregnancy center and more.
“The dream is to serve the community,” Jeff shared.
He added that his daily work is answering the pressing question, “What can we do to really make a difference?”
Last August, the Dream Center served around 160 families. By November, they served more than 270 families—a record number.
To donors like you, Jeff said, “You are helping us achieve this mission to serve our community and make a difference.”
Thank you for helping transform lives. We are so grateful that you help provide nourishing food and supportive services to thousands of Iowans.
