What forms of payment do you accept?

You can securely donate online with a credit or debit card, PayPal, Venmo or your bank account. If you are on a mobile phone you can donate via Apple Pay or Google Pay. We also accept cryptocurrency. Checks should be made payable to Food Bank of Iowa.

Can I donate stock, from my IRA, Donor Advised Fund, or other planned gifts?

Yes! There are many options of planned gifts you can make. Visit our planned giving webpage or contact us via email.

Will my company match my gift?

Many companies will match charitable donations. During donation check out, use our Matching Gift section to see if your gift can be matched. Enter your company name, and if eligible you will be taken to the website with your company’s gift matching information. This will not interrupt your donation; it will take you there after you have completed your donation.

How do I manage my recurring donation?

You can log into your donor account through Classy to manage your online recurring donation. You will need to log-in using the same email address you made your online donation with. Here you can change the date of your recurring gift, adjust the amount, or update your contact and payment information. If you need assistance or would like to make changes over the phone, please call our Donor Relations Coordinator 515-957-2892.

Can I donate in honor or in memory of someone?

When donating online, please click “Dedicate my donation.” Input the honoree’s first and last name (this is who you are dedicating the gift to). You may send an acknowledgement to your honoree or a different recipient by providing their email address. If you would like our team to send a physical card, click “Send card in mail” and enter the mailing address of the honoree or recipient.

When dedicating your gift with a check, please provide this information on a note or on the memo line.

How much of my donation goes to administrative costs?

96 cents of every dollar donated to Food Bank of Iowa go directly to feed Iowans experiencing food insecurity.

Are donations tax deductible?

Food Bank of Iowa is a 501c3 charitable organization. Your donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law – consult your tax professional for advice.

How can I get a receipt for my donation?

For online donations, receipts will be sent to the email address you provide (be sure to check your inbox folders). For checks, cash or all other donations, you will be mailed receipt within 7-10 business days upon us receiving your donation. Please note, there may be delays during the holidays. If you would like to request an annual giving statement, please contact us at give@foodbankiowa.org or 515-957-2892.
