We’ve provided food and hope for more than 42 years. No Iowan should face hunger. The map below will help you find food resources near you. Once you’ve selected one, contact them directly to find out about distribution times and any requirements. Then, you’ll visit the organization to receive assistance.

    Homeless and Domestic Violence Shelters

    Shelters include homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters and other places where people in need can find a safe place to rest. Many provide meals to their residents, but not to the general public.

    Support for Older Adults

    The Area Agencies on Aging offer a variety of services including home-delivered meals, congregate meals, nutrition education and counseling, caregiver services and more. Call Iowa’s Area Agencies on Aging at 866-468-7887 for more information for adults age 60+, adults with disabilities age 18+ and caregivers. 

    United Way of Central Iowa

    United Way of Central Iowa’s 211 Service is available 24/7 to help you with rent, utilities, tax preparation, natural disaster relief and more. Call or text 211, or chat with a professional online. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
