DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 4, 2025) — Senior Cyclone punter Tyler Perkins got the day off in last Saturday’s Iowa State win over South Dakota, but he’s teamed up with Food Bank of Iowa to fight hunger all season long.

Perkins is donating $2 for every yard he averages in a game throughout the season. Story Construction and First National Bank in Ames are matching those donations. Fans are invited to join in, spread the word and show how Cyclone Nation gives back. With community support, Perkins can turn athletic performance into powerful change for Iowans facing hunger.

“Here’s the truth: 1 in 8 Iowans and 1 in 6 Iowa kids face food insecurity. Together, we can change that,” Perkins said.

Perkins invites fans to donate to Punts for a Purpose. They can also show their support with new Raygun t-shirts designed especially for this campaign.

“We’re impressed with Tyler’s continued initiative to fight hunger in Iowa. Our employee-owners take a lot of pride in the impact we can have on our communities, and this is an excellent cause to get behind,” said Story Construction CEO Mike Espeset.

First National Bank President Scott Bauer added, “First National Bank is proud to support Food Bank of Iowa through the Punts for a Purpose initiative. This partnership reflects our commitment to standing with our Iowa neighbors and building stronger, hunger-free communities.”
