You ease neighbors’ worries

Like most parents, Melissa worries about her children. She and her husband work hard to ensure their four teenagers’ needs are met. Thanks to friends like you, the couple has one less concern – affording enough food for their family. 

That’s because Melissa can visit the Norwalk Area Food Pantry, a Food Bank of Iowa partner, to choose milk, meat, fresh produce and other nutritious groceries to supplement her tight food budget.  

Melissa works as lead custodian for a local school district and her husband works as a truck driver, but his work is seasonal, so the family’s income fluctuates. 

The family suffered a staggering loss a couple of years ago with the tragic death of Melissa’s oldest son at age 21. With everything the family has been through, Melissa says she appreciates friends like you. Because of your generosity, her family has always had enough to eat.  

“Thank you for all you do,” she says to donors like you.
