You support hardworking Iowans
Randall, 34, lives alone but tries to look out for his neighbors as much as possible. He’s grateful to have support from friends like you to help fill his table and his neighbors’ tables with fresh food this holiday season.
We met Randall on a visit to Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Des Moines, a Food Bank of Iowa partner. Randall works full-time at a local restaurant but still finds it difficult to make ends meet.
Meat and fresh produce are some of the more expensive items at the grocery store, so Randall is especially grateful to receive these items at the pantry to help stretch his food budget.
“I do eat my vegetables,” he says with a smile.
With each visit to the pantry, Randall is also careful to choose food to share with neighbors in his apartment building — especially older residents who can’t get to the pantry as easily.
This holiday season, Randall and so many Iowans can turn to Food Bank of Iowa partner pantries because you choose to give. That’s why he’s thanking friends like you today and urging supporters to continue to “give what you can.”
Your generosity is truly a lifeline for so many hardworking Iowans. Thank you for making this a healthier, happier season for all.
